As the post's title implies, this piece is not yet finished. I was inspired to make it after reading a book of adult collector's toys; something about the bright colors and stylized, yet simple designs gave me the idea for this piece. I plan to give it four stubby legs, bulging eyes, perhaps a set of ears, and a bright color scheme.

I sincerely apologize for not updating this blog earlier, as I have already sculpted and glazed several new pieces. The piece shown here is titled "Drifter'', and it took inspiration from sharks and pterosaurs. Its blue color and lifeless expression represents the feeling that one may be ''drifting'' through life without a purpose. This cube-shaped sculpture is currently untitled, but it was meant to resemble a generic video game enemy. I wanted it to look more silly than scary, and I think I succeeded. The piece here hasn't been glazed yet, but it took inspiration from craters, coral, and underwater vents. Oddly enough, it bears a resemblance to another piece I made known as "Timid''.
There was another new piece titled (and inspired by) the harpy of Greek mythology, but the piece was unfortunately lost. However, I can't say I miss it that much, since I feel it looked just like my other pinch-pot sculptures, but with wings. |
